Crappy Day's Ahead

Thu Jun 11, 2009, 6:21 PM
Cancer sucks.
A T-shirt I just got from the doctors office we got back from yesterday. A more apt statement I've never heard.
For all those that don't know, cancer runs in my family.
But the worse case of cancer belongs to my niece, Kayla.
A week ago today the doctors told her, not that she had terminal cancer (we already knew that) but that she would die one of two ways; internal bleeding, or suffocation. Either would cause someone to shut down, clam up, or just fall into a deep depression. But Kayla is resilient.
You see, not only does she have cancer, but she's pregnant. She's 6 months prego, and they want to start kemo treatments next week, before they take the baby. They said it wont hurt the baby.
What brings all this up you might ask?
Today she asked me for one gift for her baby shower. Not for her, but for her unborn baby.
A scrapbook.
She asked me and my sisters for a scrapbook, in which she plans for us to fill with photos of her when she was a baby and from all the years of pictures we have of her. And she's going to fill it with her own writing, sayings, and a journal in the back to tell the baby of things that she did, what she liked, and in general who she was.
Mostly I just felt like venting, if your reading this;
Cancer sucks.
